Project name: One tree Project (ONETREEP)

The environmental crisis, and climate change in particular, is a global issue that affects the entire planet, whether you are from the North or the South. Depending on their level of development, some countries may be more vulnerable than others. Cameroon is one of the most vulnerable countries. However, Cameroon is also very important for the regulation of global warming because it is part of the Congo Basin forests, the second most important tropical forest in the world after the Amazon, with a high capacity for carbon conservation. Deforestation in Cameroon should therefore not be encouraged because the forests are so important. Nevertheless, for many Cameroonians, their livelihoods depend on these forests and forest areas. Many farmers therefore destroy the forests to have land for their plants. This cannot be completely banned with success. However, through ONETREEP we propose a palliative way out by sponsoring the partial reforestation of affected areas. This involves
advising, financing and supervising the planting of trees with a high CO2 absorption potential around the fields and the farmer's houses which are mostly adjacent. Without completely replacing the destroyed forests, this project is a sustainable alternative.
